When one of my best friends announced that a bambino was on the way (a day after our amazing shower featured
here), us girls got to plannin' again! This time, the three of us that were expecting at the time would have the chance to be hostesses again - and to think that there would be 3 babies here by the time we gave Kim her shower...well, it was just too much fun!!!
The minute Kim revealed she'd be expecting a baby boy (that's 5 for our group of college friends, with only one little princess!), we got the ball really rolling.
We decided the event would be here, at my home - remember
this one given for me?
Our invitation set the tone for colors - shades of green and blue with no real "theme." To all of you party throw-ers out there, be jealous, be very jealous. I have the best friends in the world, and man, do they know how to throw a party! :)
Jill, our DIY'er extraordinaire made the most adorable tassels to hang as garlands.
Here we are on Friday afternoon getting things ready!
By the time Friday evening rolled around, everything was set for the following morning's party!
My R.Wood pottery, in shades of blue and green, was paired with white Juliska and silver serving pieces to tie in with the colors of the morning.
These delicate sphere cutouts were assembled from a Martha Stewart kit. Silk ribbons were draped through the chandelier too!
Our activity included Mad Libs for the mommy-to-be! So funny!
The limeaid bar allowed guests to mix raspberry lemonade or limeaid with fresh fruit, champagne or vodka.
Silver Hershey kisses and color coordinated M&M's were our favor!
The colors all worked perfectly together!
Branches and stems along with white hydrangea brought the outdoors in. Green mums and yellow daisies in turquoise vases reiterated the color scheme.
We planned the most fun menu!
Here are a few peeks at the delicious food!
There were fruit skewers in the colors of the party
Kettle chips in gray and white individual bags
Green pea and pesto pasta
Popcorn with green and blue M&M's
Sprayberry's chicken salad on croissant
Mini s'more bites
My friend Amanda, who owns
Buttermilk Pie Co. here in Gainesville, made the most wonderful lemon tassies for the party - delicately topped with a blueberry and mint sprig!
And homemade Southern cheese straws
Extra large white balloons with trailing ribbons greeted the guests as they arrived. My old fashioned blue pram set the tone for a baby shower!
Fresh fruit was ready for the limeaid bar!
Here's our gorgeous guest of honor!
So happy to spend the day celebrating this mommy to be and her little one!
