Apple {Green} of my Eye

It's probably safe to say there's been a "baby boom" among my awesome clients lately!
And nothing is more fun for me than to design nurseries to await their little ones.

Just in the nick of time, I finished the details on this precious baby boy's nursery....I wrapped up the deets and took a few pics on Friday, and bam! he was here on Monday - a few weeks early!

In designing this nursery, the mommy to be and I agreed on a color palette not necessarily centered on the typical baby blue, but one of apple green, gray and cream with a touch of blue to welcome her soon-to-be-here baby boy. The mommy-to-be is a sweet friend of mine, and I loved working with her on this space.

During our consult, I discovered that we would be working with the guest room and that her husband wanted to build the bed for the nursery! How awesome is that?!?
I suggested he add a bookshelf while he was at it, and we checked that off the list. :)

I also suggested a neutral putty gray for the walls and a soft blue on the ceiling to pair with the green and white buffalo check that would be both the crib bedding and the window treatments.
Add a gorgeous cow hide rug and antique pine chest with the freshly recovered glider....and ta-da, we were done! Easy peasy! And quite adorable too, I might add.

Here are my {amateur} shots of the absolutely precious room

The client already had the pretty antique frame, so her super-hubs added the burlap backing, and it seemed to be the perfect spot for this precious little blue outfit.

I love how the hand made bed turned out.
And how special that her husband took the time to build it for his first son?!?!
The white washed pine bed has a bead board back that's slightly higher, creating a small headboard.

I am obsessed with caramel hide over the dark stained flooring. Amazing contrast!

We chose a classic cream and green ticking stripe for the glider too. I love it with the buffalo check.

Over the pine chest hangs a mirror strung with rope - very "boy" - flanked by woodland creature watercolors matted in blue and framed in bamboo.

The antique sheep is a family piece - my fave!

I love the bookcase the daddy built!
It also features the same white wash as the bed along with the same wainscoting on the front doors and along the back. Covered storage below is essential! And the three shelves up top give just the right amount of space to show off those special pieces.

Stay tuned for a few more nurseries coming up in the next couple of months!
Hope you enjoyed this one!
