Out with the Dark, In with the Light: A Basement Reno

This terrace-level space was a cinch to make over. The client and I have too much fun, and making the decisions with her for a lighter, brighter, more comfortable family space was easy peasy. A neutral space with more texture than color, it's now ready for holidays and summer time parties - or even just Saturday football games. ;)

The most dramatic effects came from simply painting - painting all of the kitchen cabinetry and walls and trim made the space seem more open and inviting, instead of dark and basement-like. Adding the pendants above the island was a maja transformation too!

And I may be a bit partial, but any space with a Renee Bouchon commissioned original AND a full set of Leigh-Anne O'Brien's gorgeous oysters is on point! You guys go check out these two friends of mine and their websites - any of their pieces would make FABO Christmas gifts!

Just for fun, here's the BEFORE:

And now, more of the AFTER:

Baby Griffin's Nursery Reveal

I am so excited to share this room with you guys! We will welcome our little man in just a few days (11 til my due date) and I am so happy to have his sweet room ready to welcome him! Now, I know that he won't spend a lot of time here in the beginning, but its ready when he is! :)

I went with a sagey-green grasscloth on the wall for coziness and warmth, and an antelope rug on the floor. I added a few things here and there, but am also using everything from my Henry's first nursery too.

Click here to see that room in our last house:

Baby G's bathroom got a little love with wallpaper and trim paint too.
Hope you guys enjoy the pics!
