A Black and White Baby Shower

On Friday I shared a few peeks into our recent "sprinkle", held for 3 of my college best friends who are all expecting their second baby.
Today, I am sharing the super chic baby shower we planned for our friend Lauren, a first-time mommy-to-be. She and her husband are not finding out the gender, so it's twice as exciting to wait for the big day when the baby arrives!

When planning this shower, we immediately decided to center the party around a color scheme of black and white, Lauren's favorite. With animal accents in gold and crisp flowers in green and white, well, I think it looked just like our beautiful mommy-to-be. :)

Held at 10th & Piedmont in Midtown, we reserved two long banquet style tables and decorated them ourselves (it was like we were on an HGTV show, we did it so fast!).

Hollie's black and white striped table clothes made the whole table. Jill had coordinated small paper goods with the black and white invitation she designed, so the place settings looked fabulous. A combination of everyone's gold chargers paired with the restaurant's white plates and linens worked perfectly.

I used the gold animals from Henry's 1st birthday party to line the center of the table, along with my arrangements of white roses, green mums, yellow roses, and white daisies.
A presh cookie from Two Crazy Cookies sat at each place setting as well.

All of the hostesses for Lauren's baby shower:
Jill, Glenn, Meredith, Meghan, Me, Hollie, Kim, and Renee

Me and My Mom!

And here's our whole group, all the mamas with the daughters, and our little princess Miss Elly too

A Gray, Cream, and Blue Room for a Baby Boy

Hello, Baby Boom.
Hello, Dream Job.

How lucky am I?!?!
I get to help my friends/clients design spaces for their little ones on the way.
Geez, I could cry with how blessed I feel to do what I do.
I absolutely love helping my clients make their houses feel like home. And to do it for a baby who's almost here, well, its just such a treat.

The mommy to be and I decided on a color palette of gray, cream, and a hint of blue for this nursery. Her love of animals would be paramount, and my love for mixing styles would be conveyed too.

Check it out:

The gorgeous bed is classic and sophisticated, and the higher back makes for an easy focal point.
A rustic pine dresser holds all those darling baby essentials, and the large lattice print rug gives a nod to the mod.

Black accents lean to the industrial look in the handsome light fixture, the bold drapery rod, and the tall bookshelf (shown down below).

Full, double width cream linen panels + a classic linen glider and ottoman = soft and comfy for baby

The natural wood trough gives a perfect resting spot for all those adorable soft animals, and the woven basket leaves room for toys and books.

We chose to keep the bedding clean and crisp, and settled on a gray-blue and cream basket weave woven geometric for both the crib skirt and bumper. The crib sheet is a small print in yellow and white.

Adorable animal prints flank the bed and a precious mobile of felt elephants dangles over the crib.

I love this oversized, soft Mr. Elephant - he's perfect for play time and cuddles!

The bookshelf is one of those fabulous grow-with-baby pieces. It can be used indefinitely, really, as baby boy transitions to a big boy room and then even later.
But not to rush time, for now the shelf displays sweet, sentimental pieces.

Hope you enjoyed this reveal...this nursery was a joy to do!
