Window WOW! Take 2

Window treatments make a HUGE difference in a space!
(Remember this post from a few weeks ago?)

I've been working on today's soft, feminine girl's room for a while now.
Check out the balloon shades that were in this precious room until recently.

Now, we've had beautiful, sophisticated, floral linen panels made instead of those too-young shades.

Here's the bay window behind the bed without the shades.

so sorry for the iPhone pics! :/

And how the windows now look with the new pinch-pleat, custom panels.
Love it!

While we've been working on this adorable young lady's room, I have been sprucing up her teenage brother's room across the hall.

It's come a long way too!
We've pulled in his love of sports in the artwork, but kept the bedding classic and very "boy" with a handsome coverlet and pillows.
Glass lamps and industrial wall lights add light to read by, but will be able to grow with him as he gets older.

Have you transitioned your young kids to more sophisticated rooms?

Stripes on Stripes: A baby boy nursery

I had so much fun helping pull this nursery together. Some of my very best friends from home are having a baby boy and asked for my assistance. Yay yay yay!

After a little planning, we decided on a variation of stripes...in shades of aqua, cream, green, and gray. The result is a fun mix of pattern that's still soft, and ready for a baby boy.

Murphy, the current prince of the house, helped me take a few pics of his soon-to-be-here brother's new room.

Murphy's portrait hangs in the rocking corner. I love it!
The gray and cream geometric rug grounds the room and is super soft under foot.
I love the charcoal gray glider and ottoman - the contrast piping gives it a preppy punch.
Wide aqua and white stripes flank the window....I am a little cray over this fabric!

How cute is he?!?

Baby animal watercolors in white mats and natural wood frames add a sweet touch over the classic white crib. The crib bumper is a mix of the same wide aqua stripe and a contrasting geometric green along the other side while a chevron crib sheet ties in with the rug.
The timeless stripe of the crib skirt looks clean and chic.

The handsome distressed gray dresser and round wood mirror will work in a big boy room too!

Here are a few more deets around the room...it's all ready for it's occupant to arrive!
I can not wait to meet him!

A Preppy Twist: A Little Boy's Nursery

This mommy-to-be and I were instant friends.
I just love when that happens.
:)

We had a great first meeting, and subsequent planning, to get going on her baby boy's nursery.
First on the list: re-paint the walls that obviously belonged to a little girl during the previous homeownership.

We decided on a soft blue-gray for the walls.

I love the result, and loved working to get things just right.
Baby Boy will be here in a few short weeks!

BEFORE:

This is one of my favorite cribs. I have had other clients use it too, and I always think its just as handsome as the last time.

The feel would be soft but preppy, with a bit of a nautical touch via the navy accents and a sweet porthole mirror.

We also blended a few styles - a la' the Moroccan rug, glam floor lamp, modern glider - which is right up my alley.

Check out the pics I snapped while installing:

I love this little gallery wall, and the simple pieces that we chose to reflect the couple's life and interests. The mid-century navy dresser is a super fabo find!

The shades of blues and grays are so fun for the little guy. Our light turned out great, and gives a nice glow overhead.  I am nuts about the dog art piece too!

Excited to meet the little one soon!
