A South Georgia Wedding

Hope you guys enjoyed yesterday's post on the lovely rehearsal dinner of Robert and Samantha!
Today, I am sharing a little more of the weekend, this time their wedding day!

I had the honor of doing the bride's bouquet (prob my all-time fave!) and the bright, cheerful bridesmaids' bouquets. As well as the loose, wildflower style arrangements for the reception.

The amazing Ashlee Culverhouse shot this event too, and my incredible sister-in-law Laura Lyn planned the whole day! It was wonderful, down to the tiniest detail!

The ceremony was held in a beautiful church, while the reception was held at the new couples' home. The event was sweet, down-to-earth, and carefree....just like the couple themselves!
(check out their adorable engagement photos to see for yourselves!)

A South Georgia Rehearsal Dinner

Today I am sharing a few peeks around a lovely rehearsal dinner I had the pleasure of assisting with a few months ago.
Photographed by the incredible Ashlee Culverhouse (I am lucky enough to call her "friend"!) and planned by my amazing sister-in-law Laura Lyn (I am extra lucky to call her "family"!), I pulled a few stems from the yard to make loose, herb-filled, hydrangea-laden, wildflower-full arrangements for a fun dinner around the pool to celebrate a really fun couple.
(I think that qualifies as a run on sentence. Sorry, Mrs. Anderson)

Ashlee captured these lovely images of the flowers tucked around the party, all planned by Laura Lyn. The bamboo chairs, the long banquette tables, the sparkling votives. Yes, truly Southern, indeed. To add even more novelty to the evening, the party was held on the gorgeous grounds of Laura Lyn's parents' home, surrounded by the prettiest farmland and lush fields in South Georgia.
Everyone was there to celebrate LL's brother Robert and his fiance' Samantha.

Tune in tomorrow to see images from their wedding!

LLC EVENTS

I may be super duper partial, but I think my brother Brince's wife is pretty darn amazing. She's sweet, good at everything, and way smart.
I am lucky to call her sister, and my Henry is beyond blessed to call her aunt. She's just amazing at everything!

Recently, Laura Lyn set out to nurture her business, LLC Events, full time. She's a fabulous, one-stop-shop wedding planner that can help you with anything from choosing your colors to directing your wedding. I think the only thing she can't do (yet) is actually marry the bride and groom.
And I say that in like the least un-sarcastic way ever.
(uh hmmm, paging Rev. LL)

Y'all check out her gorgeous new website, and if you're a bride out there, call her immediately.

Share her extraordinary talents with anyone you can!
Best decision you'll make as a bride!

Wedding Day Fun

Wedding season is so fun, and while I'm concentrating on more interiors projects lately, I love the occasional wedding sprinkled in. Especially one for such a sweet friend. I had a ball over the past 6 months planning and shaping this beautiful event with the bride and her mother. I was honored to design and decorate the front entrance of the First Baptist Church here in Gainesville, GA. In addition, I tied bridesmaids' bouquets, boutonnieres and a few nose gays for mothers and grandmothers. It was so fun, and I love the way it all turned out!

Here I am with a car full of flowers, driving 5 mph at the 11th hour so that nothing wilted in this Georgia heat. Thankfully, by the 6:30 wedding time, things were cooler and nary a wilted hydrangea to be found!

I used a mix of simple white and green flowers for the church exterior. Lots of hydrangea, cream roses, bells of Ireland, snap dragons, eucalyptus - and the stunner - gorgeous white phalaenopsis  orchids! They're so gorgeous!!

At the ends of the railings, boughs of hydrangea, eucalyptus and orchid were tied to the green garland.

The spray above the door was composed of orchid, roses and stock. It was worth me being on top of a 12' extension ladder!

I flanked the church doors with white distressed urns (from my own wedding) that were positively stuffed with so much gorgeousness ....white and green with a hint of purple (to tie in the lavender used in the bouts).

I love a picked-from-the-yard bout style. These were so sweet and fragrant with tulips, lavender and roses. Some of the tulips reaaaally opened during the afternoon heat and, well, they had to be plucked and left behind. ;)

I'll keep you guys posted with the photog's pics when they come out...I simply adored these bridesmaids bouquets and didn't get a great pic. A mix of eucalyptus, hydrangea, roses and peonies was perfect for this June wedding!

An in-construction shot, in my basement work space.

I'm always so thankful for David's help...he's my perfect assistant! I could never do it without his help - loading the car, keeping an eye on Henry, breaking down flower boxes. And my gosh, he's the most handsome date ever, to boot! I'm a lucky girl.
We had a ball celebrating at the reception later that night!
