Gallery Wall Install: Original Artwork

Gallery walls will always be chic to me.
Especially when you have so much fabulous art to design one with!

I was practically salivating at all of the fabulous pieces in this client's collection. Individually her paintings are all gorgeous, but displayed together, they really sing!
Mixed media of watercolor, oil, acrylic, prints...she has so many pretty ones!

I spent a day at this client's home arranging bookshelves, hanging art, moving furniture around...it was too fun!

Here's what I did in the grasscloth-walled library over the fun leather chesterfield style sofa.

Here's how it began...

And, how it ended. :))

Oh, and I took a cue from my girl Martha Stewart by arranging these books by spine color - I think it creates order and interest at the same time. Tucked between are tiny talismans, objets de art, and tribal figurines from traveling.
A fun display indeed!

A Handsome Home Office: Before & After

It's been such a treat to work with this client. Really, I love all of my clients.
But, transforming this home office into a space for her husband has been fun to do!

My client and I have known each other for a long time, so working with her has been easy and fun, and as a bonus I get to see their sweeter than sugar baby girl each time I come over.

Here's our BEFORE;
kinda a catch-all room for books, the computer, sports memorabilia, and hand me downs.

On the must-have list:
- a desk
- a place for books
- seating to read

AFTER:
I love the way this room came together!

The trio of industrial-style book shelves give plenty of room for books and other accessories.

The framed flag deserved a place of honor. It now hangs above an old settee from the garage, covered in a classic cream and gray ticking. Zinc-topped end tables pop with green gourd lamps atop them.

A black iron bar cart is a nice resting spot for cocktail glasses and a decanter collection.

The preppy navy and white print fabric frames the windows and adds maja drama to the room.

A mix of textures pull together the handsome look for the home office.

I love the comfy, camel leather club chairs and red flannel pillows.
Makes me want to curl up and read!

Happy September 1st Everyone!
