A Mid-Century Kitchen Reno

I've worked on a lot of renovations, but this one is probably the most dramatic yet in terms of the "before" and the "after" - the scale of the space, opening of the walls, keeping the integrity of the house but making it modern (hello, new stainless steel backsplash!) at the same time. I could definitely see it in my head, and I am SO thankful these awesome clients trusted that vision....we are ALL so happy with how it came together!

The house is mid-century, but needed maja work. The kitchen needed to be done ASAP as the couple and their 3 young kiddos had to have an open space to cook, live, and play. The entire house is full of tongue and groove, so we wanted to play up all of the beautiful woodwork, especially the beams in the ceiling. Staining them dark, and keeping everything else a shade of white really made them architectural features. I can't wait to show you guys more of this home's transformation soon!

Hard to believe that this was the "before!"

And the "after"

My House Tour: Den and Powder Room

At the top of our stairs is this charming little space. With all original heart pine paneling and floors...it kinda begged to be a small den.

I had my grandmother's sofa recovered in navy velvet and found the bamboo coffee table at an antique mall for $10. The mid century chairs were another steal from an antique mall too...and look totes modern in a fun new geo fabric.

Toss my zebra hide over a jute rug and I am a happy girl. :)

Here's a little peek at our powder room too. I used a metallic gold grasscloth on the walls, and some of my favorite Scott's finds.....gray and white oyster plates and landscape watercolors.

Hope you guys have enjoyed this little tour! I will be sharing a big holiday tour in about a month, too! Can you believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner?!?!
