I've been working on sprucing up a friend's post-college apartment in Atlanta. It's been fun to work with what she already had and add a few fun new things along the way too. We're working with the basics of apartment living - the wall color, the windows, the room layout - so there's been a little challenge, but I think we've made the most of it. :)
I wanted to concentrate on pieces that she could take with her in the event of a move, and things she wouldn't tire of.
But before I show you what we did, here is the BEFORE of her living room and bedroom:
Pretty drab, and in need of some maturity.
Here was my proposal for her jazzed up living space:
And the AFTER:
I added some lighting, artwork above the sofa (painted by yours truly) and some fun new pillows.
The deer head and plates from Anthropologie are now above the TV.
Here was our plan for the bedroom:
And AFTER:
We balanced the space with two bedside tables and pretty lamps. The bedding is now more neutral with a fun bolster pillow, all under the pretty sunburst mirror. Window treatments in the living area and bedroom really soften the space.
We did a small photo gallery wall in the vestibule between her bedroom and bath.
And added some fun artwork (also painted by yours truly) above the tub along with this super fun rug.
Hope you like!
Happy Friday blogger friends!
