Before and After: An Office Space

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Hope your holidays were super fun, extra special, and that Santa was good to you all!

I've been dying to show y'all the before and afters of this fun project...

Working on my hub's office space has been such a treat!
Transforming an outdated office building is fun in itself, but getting to work with David was a bonus!

Here's what we began with:
- old carpeting
- mis-matched artwork
- outdated wallpaper in the bathrooms
- yucko cabinet stains

My goals:
- designing a functional yet beautiful space
- creating an entry/reception area
- updating the current finishes: carpet, flooring, paint, and cabinetry
- add a few new furniture pieces

BEFORE:

AFTER:
All walls were painted my go-to color, Benjamin Moore's Coastal Fog

The outdated green carpeting was replaced with a fresh commercial one in both the offices and the common areas. The main hallway was laid with an laminated hardwood - and it looks fantastic!

The reception area was dressed with architectural lamps and a porthole mirror

The waiting area is now conducive to actual "comfortable waiting"
The pair of chairs were existing to the space, only now are updated with a clean Belgian linen.
The rug is an antique, and the fabulous gray Chesterfield sofa is covered in a charcoal gray linen, accented with chrome nailheads.
The reclaimed wood coffee table features an architectural iron base. The glass lamps supply a nice light for those long-working hours. The frames over the sofa are hung grid-style, and feature antique postcards of Gainesville's historic landmarks.
The custom built etergeres now create an entry space and feature a few edited accessories.

Although the office is primarily male, the support staff is a trio of fabulous women. I knew that they were happy with the new updates, so it gave this fabric-lovin' designer a little nudge to still have some fun fabrics around. The antique rug shows pretty reds, blues, and browns - I mimicked these colors in the masculine fabrics.

A gray and white ticking stripe is paired with a brown, blue, and cream ikat on the sofa.

A classic red and ivory stripe was cut to create a center diamond shape on these custom pillows.

Old books found at antique malls give a sense of patina to the shelves' accessories.

The long hallway beyond the reception area is now punctuated with custom console tables.

The greeny-gray walls provide a crisp, clean background for these gorgeous maps. Upon beginning this project, a stash of maps were rolled into a tube....not being utilized at all!
With a staple gun, some rope, and a few strips of cedar, they now are lovely art pieces lining the hall.
The console tables have custom skirts of the same white and gray ticking stripe, from the front pillows. The deep aqua glass lamps and textured shades give a glow to the maps above.
I'm still on the painted-door bandwagon, and love the Chelsea Gray on these doors lining the hallway.

My two main men!

The floors look fantastic!

The community kitchen got a make-over too! White Dove cabinetry, Coastal Fog walls, and new floors make this a great place for coffee, meetings, and lunch.

A few detail shots:

And the bathroooms, "After" reno - no more old-fashioned wallpaper!
Benjamin Moore's Silver Crest looks clean and fresh with the White Dove-trimmed mirrors and cabinetry.

Hope you enjoyed this office tour!
It was so fun to see it all come together!

Happy Holidays to you all!
xoxox,
Maggie

  2. But whether your whiteboard lives in a high powered office, a classroom or even a home study, you need to ensure that you have the right accessories to complement your purchase. Whiteboard accessories, like many other stationary purchases, allows you to not only increase your productivity and efficiency but also express yourself just a little.
