Pantone's Radiant Orchid + White + Green = Gorgeous Combo

I recently had the opportunity to design the floral centerpieces for the Les Dames d'Escoffier International fundraiser event at America's Mart in Atlanta. What a privilege this was! The event raised over $20,000, and featured a cocktail hour and silent auction to raise funds for Atlanta Les Dames d'Escoffier International, a philanthropic society dedicated to fostering the education of students in food, fine beverage and hospitality. Libations, entertainment and delicious tastings were offered by some of Atlanta's finest chefs including, Delia Champion (Delia's Chicken & Sausage Stand), Linda Harrell (Cibo e Beve) and Jay Swift (4th & Swift).

When Corey McCants of Corey McCants and Company asked me to join the event, I was tickled pink! Well, tickled radiant orchid to be exact. ;) I took a cue from Pantone's Color of the Year and combined shades of white, green, and purple to create arrangements that both spoke of our Southern love of hydrangea, and gave a taste of France. To my delight, the florals looked pulled from the garden, and after being auctioned off, raised even more money for the wonderful foundation, benefiting scholarships for aspiring young chefs.

Constructed in aged clay pots, woven baskets, and bronze tureens, these flowers sure made a wintry day seem a bit less daunting. With pomegranates, green apples, grapes and artichokes tucked around the base, the arrangements conveyed a sense of savory delight.
Enjoy!
