Bachelor Pad Reveal: Before and After

I was so excited to have the opportunity to "fluff" this primo-location bachelor pad.
With a new career in real estate, and a new move to the Big City, the bachelor himself felt it was time to graduate to more sophisticated furnishings, and to say bye-bye to those college hand-me-downs.

Here are a few BEFORE images of the jumbled, non-personal space.

This client is both young and mature, laid-back and preppy, and many parts cool and sharp.
I pulled together masculine colors and textures with pieces that could grow with the homeowner, and that reflected his style.
No barcalounger or sports pennants on the wall here. :)

Here's the living space - the large leather sectional is the best place to watch Saturday Gameday!

I love the subtle houndstooth I chose for the windows.
The cream and taupe color way is modern and neutral for this traditional fabric.

He already had the great, weighty crystal lamps and end tables, but we added the sharp charcoal gray headboard and the bedding -  a fun mix of gray, blue and white.

I added double-width drapery panels lined with Blackout on the windows. A comfy leather chair is paired with an acrylic cocktail table for a fun mix.

I love that the fabrics and nailheads are a subtle nod to men's suiting...very Don-Draper indeed. :)

The graphic black and white rug keeps the look current and youthful.

The guest room needed to be completed as well. A new upholstered headboard and bedding were all chosen to tie into the fun, colorful traditional rug from the family stash.
A pair of stately brass lamps, also family pieces, now top the skirted nightstands.

I really dig the graphic quality of the navy and white buffalo check bedding paired with the rug.

This was a fun project for me! And I hope you liked it too!

  1. This is awesome -- they way you described the client is a lot like my boyfriend, and I think a lot of this would suit him too! I especially love the leather chair with nailheads in the bedroom and the big ol' leather couch. Well done!
