Hi blogger friends!
I wanted to share a few new additions around our house!
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw this little caned settee a few months back...it was a Scott's steal that I knew needed some love. I had been wanting a bench for the end of our bed and this one had just the right price.
I love the look of a bench at a bed's foot. There's something complete about the look and I think it looks polished.
I kept being drawn to them on Pinterest...whether fully upholstered camel back versions like this one...
Or European inspired ones like this...
Or caned-back versions like this one.
I loved the color of this one...
And the boldness of the dark wood in this image...
And gosh, the simplicity of this is great too.
In addition to the paint job needed on the bench, my hubs and I brought back a small secretary that was to go in our bedroom too. It had been in storage back home, and we snagged it. I was trying to decide just the color for it and loved these images.
So, here's a little before image of our master bedroom before a few changes I've made:
And here was an Instagram peek into a few things I picked up from the upholsterer.
AFTER: Draperies, bamboo shades, and the bench now make the room feel so complete!
I really fell for this glam leopard print fabric for the bench. And used a gray spray paint to give it the face lift it so needed!
I chose a blue gray paint for the secretary and the painter did a great job on it!
This image spoke to me and gave me some styling inspiration! I loved the wallpaper backing used in this secretary too. I may have to use a remnant in the back of mine as well.
While adding the bamboo blinds in our master bedroom, we added a small one in the powder room for more privacy. It still allows light in, which I love.
And the bench of my grandmother's from a few months back now has a new cushion and new pillows too!
I love bamboo anyway, and especially because it was hers!
I've got more pics of our house decorated for Christmas coming up soon!
AHHHH Maggie everything is beautiful! What brand of spray paint did you use on the grey bench in your master bedroom?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jamie! I used a spray paint primer (flat gray) first, and then used Rustoleum high gloss spray paint. The trick is to do two thin coats of primer, allowing them to dry well between sprays; then, do two thin coats of paint. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGreat write up Maggie! Everything is beautiful! What brand of spray paint did you use on the grey bench in your master bedroom?
