A Wedding Reception

Now that you've seen the rustic rehearsal dinner for my friends Sydney and Gray, I wanted to share the lovely wedding reception too.
I had so much fun working on Sydney's wedding, and was thrilled to do her florals for the big day. In addition to the bridesmaids' bouquets, mothers bouquets, etc., I did the flowers for the reception ball room. It was a lot of work, but so fun!

Here are shots of the process...there were literally flowers everywhere!

The bride's favorite flower is an orchid, so we wanted her groom to have one on his lapel for sure.

The groomsmen and ushers had blush pink roses with hypericum berries and rosemary in their boutonnieres.

The flower girls carried these adorable moss purses with blush roses and baby's breath tucked inside.

The ceremony took place in the incredible sanctuary of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in the heart of Buckhead. It's really amazing, and Sydney looked breathtaking making her way down the aisle. The church's flower guild prepared the floral arrangement at the front of the church.

My apologies for a grainy image, but here's the happy bride and groom leaving the ceremony and heading to their fun reception!

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white hydrangea, pink peonies, and blush roses - they were just gorgeous paired with their eggplant dresses!

Upon entering the Capital City Club downtown, guests were greeted with candlelit lanterns and a beautiful spray of baby's breath as they climbed the stairs to the ball room.

The historic ballroom was filled with arrangements of all sizes - on the cocktail tables, the mantels, and the dining tables.
I used silver and mercury containers for the larger arrangements with a mix of mostly white and green flowers - white lily, white hydrangea, baby's breath, seeded eucalyptus, blush roses, pink orchid, and white orchid. It was magical!

The mantels were also graced with beautiful lemon leaf garlands.

Ps. That's my amazing husband helping me load and unload everything! I don't know what I would have done without he and my mother's help all weekend!

The food was displayed in a quatrefoil arrangement with a taller table in the middle. This called for a "wow" arrangement  - and this gorgeous concrete urn was just the ticket. Filled with bunches and bunches of baby's breath and delicate pink orchids, it really was breath taking!

There were so many flowers to take apart after the reception, the mother of the bride's car couldn't hold them all! I was thrilled to be able to enjoy a few at my home for a few days too!

  1. Stunning wedding reception arrangements. Honestly loved everything. The flowers are best and just adding grace to the event. Going to plan my nephew’s wedding reception at DC wedding venues. Thinking of hiring floral decorating services for elegant flowers there.
